IRIS Portal Launch Now Planned for Early 2023
BCFSA has been working hard behind the scenes to get the new Integrated Regulatory Information System (“IRIS”) ready for real estate licensees with a new anticipated launch date of January 2023. For those who need a reminder, IRIS is a new online licensing portal that will make submitting applications more efficient.
Accessible via our website, IRIS will allow you to apply for or renew licences, pay fees, change brokerages, manage contact information, and submit required documentation in a single online portal. With step-by-step instructions, IRIS will help you save time and avoid common mistakes or missing information on applications.
IRIS will be similar to the current real estate portal, but you will no longer need to submit application forms by email. Bringing more functionality into our online portal for real estate licensees is part of BCFSA’s goal to become a modern, effective, and efficient financial services regulator.
What We Are Doing to Get Ready
We are testing, retesting, and optimizing IRIS to ensure the portal runs smoothly, and all licensee information is migrated from the current licensing system. However, past receipts will not transfer into IRIS, so we advise licensees to download any receipts they wish to keep.
We are preparing more learning support videos and materials to guide licensees every step of the way, from creating your account in IRIS and updating personal information, to completing your licence renewal. And we will continue engaging managing brokers and walking them through the IRIS Portal, so that they understand the steps they need to take when you submit applications in the portal.
Finally, we are training our team to be even more familiar with the IRIS back-end so that they can process applications efficiently when they come in through IRIS.
