New General Bylaw: Photo ID Required on New Applications

At its meeting on June 20, 2016, the Council amended its General Bylaws to require that all new applications for licensing by individuals must include photo identification. This new requirement will become effective on September 1, 2016.

The amendment to section 4-4(1)(h) of the General Bylaws will require that individuals applying for licensing must include with their applications:

(iv) a true copy of a piece of valid government issued identification acceptable to the council that bears a clear and true photographic likeness of the applicant;

The new requirement will enhance the Council’s ability to protect the public, by giving the Council additional tools to verify each applicant’s identity.
