Read the Real Estate Teams Consultation Report Online

Real estate teams are a popular option for licensees who want to grow their business beyond one licensee’s workload, or who want the support of more experienced licensees as they navigate a challenging and evolving industry.

BCFSA is working to better protect consumers by clarifying the roles and duties of real estate teams and team members through proposed amendments to the Real Estate Services Rules (“Rules”). It is important that as a licensee you and all other licensees on your team, including licensed assistants, are complying with the Real Estate Services Act and the Rules, and that you keep up to date with changes to the legislation.

Should the Minister of Finance consent to BCFSA’s proposed Rules on real estate teams, BCFSA expects to bring them into force April 1, 2023.

For more information on the proposed amendments to the Rules and on our recent consultation, please review the summary reports posted on the BCFSA website.
